If you are using an operating system or phone that isn’t listed on the Compatibility Guide, it’s important to note that some functionality, such as glucose alarms≠ and data sharing, may not work on phones that have not been evaluated or have been deemed incompatible.
If you would like to know which phones have been officially confirmed for compatibility with the FreeStyle Libre 2 app§ by Abbott, please visit https://www.freestyle.abbott/ca-en/apps-and-software/freestyle-libre-2-app.html) to see current and future compatibility updates.
We regularly review and test devices and operating systems for compatibility with our apps to ensure they continue to be compatible. In some cases, devices and operating systems may be removed from the Compatibility Guide for the following reasons, but are not limited to:
- The iPhone Operating System (iOS) is no longer supported with security patches by Apple, and they have discontinued support for the iOS.
- Apple has discontinued support for the device
- The device did not pass testing with updated or new features of the app
- New app and/or sensor features are not supported by the hardware of the device, or technical or performance limitations on the device
§The FreeStyle Libre 2 app and the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader have similar but not identical features. Finger pricks are required if glucose readings or alarms do not match symptoms or expectations. The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor communicates with the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader that started it or the FreeStyle Libre 2 app that started it. The FreeStyle Libre 2 app is only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. Please check the website for more information about device compatibility before using the app. Use of FreeStyle Libre 2 requires registration with LibreView.
≠Notifications will only be received when alarms are turned on and the sensor is within 6 meters of the reading device.
