Yes. There are updated App Permission for Android Users running Android 12 or higher and Android 13 or higher.
Android 12:
New users:
- Users will see the Nearby Device permission during onboarding
Existing users:
- Users who update to v2.10.1, will receive an Alarms≠ Unavailable notification shortly after updating app§, if they have at least one alarm≠ enabled.
- Users will not receive glucose alarms≠ until they open the FreeStyle Libre 2 app§ and allow the new Nearby Device permission.
- Tapping Allow on the Nearby Device permission restores the app§ to normal operation.
Android 13:
New users:
- Users will see the Allow Notifications permission during onboarding
- Users will see the Nearby Device Permission during onboarding

§The FreeStyle Libre 2 app and the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader have similar but not identical features. Finger pricks are required if glucose readings or alarms do not match symptoms or expectations. The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor communicates with the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader that started it or the FreeStyle Libre 2 app that started it. The FreeStyle Libre 2 app is only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. Please check the website for more information about device compatibility before using the app. Use of FreeStyle Libre 2 requires registration with LibreView.
