How do LibreLinkUp‡‡ glucose alarms≠ work with connections who are receiving real-time glucose readings?

When a FreeStyle Libre 2 app§ user receives a glucose reading that exceeds the LibreLinkUp‡‡ user’s alarm≠ levels, the LibreLinkUp‡‡ user will receive a push notification informing them that their connections glucose has exceeded the alarm level. The alarm notification will repeat every 5 minutes until the alarm≠ is dismissed by the Caregiver or the connection is no longer in the alarm episode.

The LibreLinkUp mobile app is not intended to be a primary glucose monitor: home users must consult their primary device(s) and consult a healthcare professional before making any medical interpretation and therapy adjustments from the information provided by the app.

 

≠Notifications will only be received when alarms are turned on and the sensor is within 6 meters unobstructed of the reading device.

 

§The FreeStyle Libre 2 app and the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader have similar but not identical features. Finger pricks are required if glucose readings or alarms do not match symptoms or expectations. The FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor communicates with the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader that started it or the FreeStyle Libre 2 app that started it.
