Who is eligible to receive public coverage in Manitoba for the FreeStyle Libre system?

As of March 14, 2023, Manitoba Health has expanded coverage of the FreeStyle Libre system to eligible Manitobans who meet specific criteria.^‡‡

^{‡‡ FreeStyle Libre system (reader and sensors) is a limited-use benefit for children 19 years of age and younger on intensive insulin therapy (administration of short-acting insulin three or more times per day), or clients with type 1 diabetes. The FreeStyle Libre flash glucose monitoring system is indicated for measuring interstitial fluid glucose levels in adults aged 18 years and older with diabetes mellitus.
