What would cause my smartphone to set off the Signal Loss Alarm with the Libre app?

A Signal Loss alarm* notifies you when the sensor has not communicated with the Libre app^† for 20 minutes.

Signal loss could be caused by the sensor being too far away from your smartphone.

For FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors: over 6 meters (20 ft)
For FreeStyle Libre 3 sensors: 10 meters (33 ft)

Additionally, the Signal Loss Alarm* can occur if Bluetooth is turned off, or another issue such as an error or problem with your Sensor.

*Alarm notifications will only be received when alarms settings are enabled and turned on and sensor is within 20 feet (FreeStyle Libre 2) or 33 feet (FreeStyle Libre 3) unobstructed of the reading device.

^†The FreeStyle Libre systems apps are only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. t:connect Mobile App: The t:connect mobile app is intended to be a secondary display for compatible Tandem Diabetes Care insulin pumps and is capable of wirelessly uploading pump data it receives into the t:connect web application. The t:connect mobile app is not intended to control an insulin pump and is not intended to be a replacement for the information displayed on your insulin pump. Dosing decisions should not be made based on the secondary display device. The user should follow instructions on the continuous glucose monitoring system and insulin pump. This secondary display device is not intended to replace self-monitoring practices as advised by a physician.
