My child has the FreeStyle Libre 2 app on their smartphone. Will I receive an alarm on my smartphone if my child's glucose goes above or below their set range?

If you have alarms enabled in your LibreLinkUp app*, you will receive a shared glucose alarm from your child if glucose alarms are enabled in their FreeStyle Libre 2 app†‡ and their glucose goes above or below their set range in their app§‖. The Urgent Low Glucose Alarm is an additional, mandatory alarm that is only available in the FreeStyle Libre 2 app and is fixed at 55 mg/dL.

The FreeStyle Libre 2 system is indicated for use in people with diabetes age 4 and older.

‡ Alarm notifications will only be received when alarms settings are enabled and turned on and sensor is within 20 feet unobstructed of the reading device.

§ Glucose alarms will transfer to the LibreLinkUp app users when users are connected and alarms are enabled on the FreeStyle Libre 2 app.

‖ The user's device must have internet connectivity for glucose data to automatically upload to LibreView and to transfer to connected LibreLinkUp app users.

The t:connect mobile app is not intended to control an insulin pump and is not intended to be a replacement for the information displayed on your insulin pump. Dosing decisions should not be made based on the secondary display device. The user should follow instructions on the continuous glucose monitoring system and insulin pump. This secondary display device is not intended to replace self-monitoring practices as advised by a physician.

♢ Eligible patients will receive one (1) FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensor or (1) FreeStyle Libre 3 system sensor for users with a compatible mobile phone operating system at $0 copay. The expiration date of the voucher is 60 days from the issue date. This program is available for patients with Type 1 diabetes or Type 2 diabetes or gestational diabetes. Patients ages 18 and older are eligible to sign up and receive an offer for the (1) FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensor or (1) FreeStyle Libre 3 system sensor. Patients ages 4-17 are eligible to receive an offer for the (1) FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor or (1) FreeStyle Libre 3 sensor through their parent or guardian.
