The Low Glucose Alarm and High Glucose Alarm are default ON, but can be turned OFF or silenced by the user*†. The default setting for the Low Glucose Alarm is 70 mg/dL. The default setting for the High Glucose Alarm is 240 mg/dL. The Low Glucose and High Glucose Alarms are also default to 'Override Do Not Disturb', but can also be turned OFF by the user. When Silent Mode‡ is turned on, the alarms are delivered without sound for up to six hours at a time following your smartphone's settings.
* Alarm notifications will only be received when alarms settings are enabled and turned on and sensor is within 20 feet unobstructed of the reading device.
† The FreeStyle Libre 2 app also has a mandatory Urgent Low Glucose Alarm that lets users know when their glucose value is below 55 mg/dL.
‡ Silent mode allows users to silence their signal loss and glucose alarms, including urgent low glucose alarms for up to six hours. You will not hear your glucose and signal loss alarms even if you've turned on Override Do Not Disturb but may still get the visual and vibratory notifications based on your phone's settings.
