To change the volume of the alarm‡ sound on the FreeStyle Libre 2 app*, turn OFF the "Override Do Not Disturb" setting for the optional alarms. When "Override Do Not Disturb" is turned OFF, the FreeStyle Libre 2 app will follow your smartphone's volume and vibration settings.
The urgent low glucose alarm volume cannot be changed†. This has a pre-set volume and is intended to be a safety measure for users of the FreeStyle Libre 2 app.
You can also turn on Silent Mode§ on the App. The Silent Mode feature allows the FreeStyle Libre 2 app to deliver glucose and signal loss alarms without sound for up to six hours at a time. During Silent Mode, alarms are received following your smartphone's vibration settings. Please note that Silent Mode does not apply to reminders or system alarms, such as Sensor Ended or Alarms Unavailable messages.
‡ Alarm notifications will only be received when alarms settings are enabled and turned on and sensor is within 20 feet unobstructed of the reading device.
* The FreeStyle Libre systems apps are only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. Please check the Support section of our website for more information about device compatibility before using the apps. Use of the FreeStyle Libre systems apps may require registration with LibreView.
† To get the Urgent Low Glucose Alarm on your phone with the FreeStyle Libre 2 app, you will first need to start your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with your phone. If you do not start your FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor with your phone, you will not get the Urgent Low Glucose Alarm on your phone.
§ Silent mode allows users to silence their signal loss and glucose alarms, including urgent low glucose alarms for up to six hours. You will not hear your glucose and signal loss alarms even if you've turned on Override Do Not Disturb but may still get the visual and vibratory notifications based on your phone's settings.
