When in range, the FreeStyle Libre 2 app* automatically communicates with the FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor via Bluetooth to provide Low and High Glucose Alarms and a Signal Loss Alarm if the alarms are turned on in the app†. The Low and High Glucose Alarms notify you if your glucose goes below or rises above the level you set. The Urgent Low Glucose Alarm notifies you if your glucose drops below 55 mg/dL. All alarms do not include your glucose reading, so you need to scan your sensor to check your glucose reading.
If Silent Mode‡ is turned on in the FreeStyle Libre 2 app, glucose and signal loss alarms are delivered without sound for up to six hours at a time. During Silent Mode, alarms follow your smartphone's vibration settings.
* The FreeStyle Libre systems apps are only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. Please check the Support section of our website for more information about device compatibility before using the apps. Use of the FreeStyle Libre systems apps may require registration with LibreView.
† Alarm notifications will only be received when alarms settings are enabled and turned on and sensor is within 20 feet unobstructed of the reading device.
‡ Silent mode allows users to silence their signal loss and glucose alarms, including urgent low glucose alarms for up to six hours. You will not hear your glucose and signal loss alarms even if you've turned on Override Do Not Disturb but may still get the visual and vibratory notifications based on your phone's settings.
