Yes. The FreeStyle LibreLink app* was developed using the same technology that is in the FreeStyle Libre 14 day readers for receiving and processing glucose data, so it can also be used for routine glucose monitoring. The FreeStyle LibreLink app can be used instead of or in combination with the FreeStyle Libre 14 day reader.†‡
*The FreeStyle LibreLink app is only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. Please check our compatibility guide for more information about device compatibility before using the app. Use of the FreeStyle LibreLink app requires registration with LibreView.
† The FreeStyle LibreLink app and the FreeStyle Libre 14 day reader have similar but not identical features. Fingersticks are required for treatment decisions when you see Check Blood Glucose symbol, when symptoms do not match system readings, when you suspect readings may be inaccurate, or when you experience symptoms that may be due to high or low blood glucose.
‡ If you want to use your reader, you must start the sensor with the reader first. Remember that FreeStyle LibreLink and the FreeStyle Libre 14 day readers do not share data. For complete information on a device, be sure to scan your sensor every 8 hours with that device; otherwise, your reports will not include all your data.
Medicare coverage is available for FreeStyle Libre systems if their respective readers are used to review glucose data on some days every month. Medicare and other third party payor criteria apply.
